Dimensions & Details
Our little squid friend measures 7.25 inches in length (sans legs) and boasts a circumference of 14.5 inches. It’s compact enough to dangle above a baby’s crib, making it an adorable nursery addition.
Materials & Recommendations
For the specimen I crafted, I used Eggplant 24344 wool. However, feel free to let your creativity flow and try out various wool types. The world of wool is vast and exciting!
Pattern Abbreviations
- CO – cast on
- KFB – knit into the front and back of the stitch
- PM – place marker
- K – knit
- rnd(s) – round(s)
- BO – bind off
- PU – pick up
Let’s Get Knitting! (Squid Body)
Using 4 (3.5mm) needles, CO 4 sts.
KFB across dividing sts 2 – 4 – 2 between needles
PM and join to work in the round without twisting – 8 sts

Finishing Touches
After completing the knitting process, weave in the ends. Using color E, stitch on a cute face just 2 sts from the purl bump ridge. And voilà! Your squid is ready for display or cuddles.
Knitting Tips:
I-cord creation: *Knit a row, then slide the row to the other end of the needle without turning your work. Tug on the yarn tightly and repeat from the start*, forming a neat tube.
