Hey there, yarn enthusiast! I’m Rachel, the knitting guru!
If you’re diving into the cozy world of knitting, I’ve got a fantastic cowl pattern to get you started. Not only is it super straightforward, but it’s also stylish and adaptable! Ever thought of transforming your yarn leftovers into something trendy? Here’s your chance!
Why Knit a Cowl?
Winter is never complete without some snuggly neck warmers! I have a bunch in neutral shades so I’m never caught off-guard on those chilly days. Plus, they’re the perfect accessory to jazz up any outfit.
Let’s Dive Right Into the Patterns!
Pattern 1 – Quick Knit Long Cowl Collar
This design offers a lengthy cowl collar, perfect to drape around or to snuggle over your shoulders.
- Size: 17 cm wide x 82 cm long.
- Tension: 11 sts and 18 rows = 10 cm over narrow alternating stripes pattern.
- Materials: 1 x 100g ball of Scheepjes Sweetheart Soft in pink (A) or your favorite shade. 2 x 50g balls of Scheepjes Stone Washed XL in Moonstone (B) or another shade of your liking. A pair of 5.5mm knitting needles and a yarn needle are also necessary.
Note: If you decide on crafting both designs, only 1x 100g ball of Color A is needed.
Method: The detailed method is mentioned above, but remember the narrow alternating stripes pattern is the key! Also, stranding the yarn loosely on the knitting side is crucial. Once done, just sew the side seams to form a loop, join the edges, and weave in the ends.
Pattern 2 – Quick Knit Short Cowl Collar
This one’s for those who adore a close-fitting neck accessory!
- Size: 17 cm wide x 55 cm long.
- Tension: Similar to Pattern 1.
- Materials: Same as above.
Method: This follows the same approach as Pattern 1, with the distinction of casting on 60 stitches initially. Finish it off by joining the edges and weaving in the ends.
Hope you’ll cherish the experience of creating these quick knit cowls. They’re perfect presents or just to pamper yourself with a swift, fulfilling knitting project!
